Has the younger sister to American pop star, Beyonce Knowles,
Solange Knowles been averting tax? It appears so, as the taxman has slapped her
with a $55,000 tax lien from the state of California. The 28-year-old
singer-songwriter reportedly failed to pay her taxes from 2010-2012. A rep for
her tells E! News that it was all just a misunderstanding.
"The lien is in process of being removed as there was
simply confusion on whether Solange was a California resident. We expect this
to come to a swift close," her rep says.
The lien was filed only three days after she tied the knot
to her longtime boyfriend, Alan Ferguson. That's definitely not the way you
want to celebrate your honeymoon! Based on Solange's Twitter profile, however,
it seems like she didn't really know what was going on with the lien. The this
situation will soon become water under the bridge, as she is already taking
care of the problem.
Rumors of money troubles have surrounded the happy couple as of late, most recently with a false report that Beyoncé paid for Solange and Alan's honeymoon as an apology for the infamous elevator fight! But a rep for her quickly cleared the air and confirmed that her sister didn't pay for their vacation. Although it was debunked totally.
