GEJ Picks Sambo as 2015 Running Mate

On Thursday, while accepting his Presidential ticket of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), President Goodluck Jonathan announced that he will run his 2015 re-election race with Namadi Sambo, the incumbent vice president.

This is in contrast to the general speculation that Jonathan would not pick Sambo for his second term bid because he is seen as an unpopular candidate in the Northern part of Nigeria.

Jonathan was earlier declared winner of the party’s presidential primary after winning all the 2,812 votes of the election held at the Eagles Square, Abuja between December 10 and 11.
