The office of the former Vice President Namadi Sambo has
reportedly been raided by security officials in Abuja. Mr Sambo is accused by the Economic and
Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of involvement into the alleged diversion of $2bn (£1.3bn) meant
to buy weapons to fight the militant Islamist group Boko Haram.
Documents, including bank statements
and contracts, were seized during the raid, which happened on
Saturday.
Mr Sambo, who served under ex-President Goodluck
Jonathan between 2010 and 2015, has not yet commented on the raid.
